Plug in Display- Also Scentsy Day 10

I made this very hastily for my party today. I will make a blog about that another day. Two blog posts in a day is ENOUGH! I am going to give directions, but when I make the REAL DEAL with electricity hooked up I will post more in depth.

Need: Picture frame (3 Dollars at Walmart), Outlet Plug ins (like 50 cents), Face Plate (also like 50 cents), scrapbook papers (or if your lazy like me and dont want to make two trips tissue paper haha 1 dollar), hot glue gun, box cutter

Step 1. Cut a hole in the backing of the picture frame with your box cutter. This will cut the mount off also, so you need to keep that for later.

Step 2. Put the outlet plug through the hole, and hot glue into place.

Step 3. Hot glue your scrapbook paper, or tissue paper to the backing of the frame. Obviously, you are going to have to cut a hole through the paper to put around the outlet plug.

Step 4. Glue the face plate on top.

Step 5. Glue the frame border (my frame came with one) on top of the tissue paper.

Step 6. Glue the mount back onto the back of the frame.

Thats it! It didnt really turn out like I wanted because I had to do it so fast, but when I do the GOOD one, I will post it on here too.

Scentsy Kit: Scentsy Day 10

So, I got my kit on Wednesday. I really thought that I was going to be able to take pictures of everything but it is a TON of stuff. What I am going to do is write what I got, and my opinion of it.
Here it goes:

Scentsy Binder-Love it! I have literally EVERYTHING in there. I got dividers with the pockets and put all the brochures, order sheets, promotion sheets I printed, game coupons, catalogs, EVERYTHING!

Start Up DVD- WORTHLESS. I thought it was going to have tips, but it was just stories about people saying how Scentsy changed their life.

Business Cards- These were okay. I don't really get how you are suppose to use them because they were too small to run through my printer. I ended up getting labels and putting the labels on the back of them.

Order Forms-Obviously a must!

Catalogs- Also a must! There was a typo on the catalogs and they send you stickers to put in the catalog to cover the mistake. Considering I am a little OCD it took me FOREVER to get them all on perfect!

80 Scents- Must have! DUH!

Invitations- I don't think I will ever use these. Just my opinion. I would rather just do Email invites.

Hostess Packets- These are reward pamphlets that explain the rewards, a guest list, and envelope to put it all in. I don't think I will ever use this either.

Join, Host, Buy Pamphlets- Also I don't think I will ever use these. Maybe the Join ones?

Bags- Really 5 bags? Thanks! Hopefully I need more than 5 bags to get started.

Travel Tin, Scent Circle, Room Spray, Bar- All needs!

I think these are amazing deals, but some of the paper goods I think are just fluff in my opinion. I will just use the binder, products, scent testers, and catalogs really.

THINGS I THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE KIT:

*A bank bag. I work at a credit union so I have one anyway, but definitely get one! You can probably get it free at your credit union. If you have a bank you will probably have to pay for one. They are really cheap at Walmart though.

*Category Cards- Instead of the Hostess Rewards packet send some Category Cards! Mine took forever to make. I didn't have time to order them from Scentsy. I like mine better though.

*Scent Pak, Fragrance Foam and Plug in!


HOW I ORGANIZED MY SCENT TESTERS

Okay, so I had this Tupperware thing already and it fit all my testers AMAZINGLY!

LOVE IT!

Just the warmer, Room Spray, Travel Tin, Scent Circle, Bar, and light bulbs are $55 retail. This kit is a DAMN good deal!

Coffee Pens: Day 4 of Scenty

Okay, so I have my first party booked! I am having a party on Sunday which will be Scentsy Day 10. I have a lot to get done before that party! These pens are a complete pain to make but they are cute!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

1. Fake flowers. I got mine at Hobby Lobby while they were having a 50% off floral sale. I got 12 flowers and they were about 10 dollars.

2. Pens. You want to make sure that you dont get the click pens. I bought a 12 pack at staples for two dollars.

3. Floral tape. I got mine from Hobby Lobby for 2 dollars.

4. Whole Bean Coffee. I bought mine at Walmart for 5 dollars.

5. Hot Glue Gun

Keep in mind that you will have a TON of coffee, and floral tape left. So it will be much cheaper next time you make them.

STEPS TO MAKE THE COFFEE PENS:

1. Wrap the pen in floral tape. The pens that I bought had a grip and I stopped wrapping them at the grip. I would recommend doing the same because the tape gets sticky. This way people dont have to get the glue from the tape on their fingers.

2. Pop the flower off from the stem. You literally just pull it apart

3. Remove the "fluff" from the center of the flower. In all three kinds of flowers that I purchased there was a plastic piece in the middle of the flower that had a...carpet? of flower stuff covering it. You just want to remove the carpet fluff and leave the center piece. You can just rip it off, but you kind of have to get your fingers in there. Its not as easy as you would think! This is the flower with the carpet taken off and the carpet stuff that was taken off the center.

4. Hot glue the beans smoooth part up onto the center plastic piece. I tried to do inside working out, and outside working in. It was pretty much the same either way. You are going to have to layer the beans to cover gaps.

5. Hot glue to flower to the end of the pen. I wrapped mine with more floral tape at the top to cover the hot glue. That's it! Your done!

WHY AM I DOING THIS BLOG?

Thursday night I signed up to be a Scentsy Independent Consultant . This was 2 days ago. I will be the first to admit that when I start something I become a little addicted. I watched a ton of stuff on the Scentsy training center, searched YouTube, searched Google, and I still didn't feel satisfied with the information (albeit I am an information crazy and I have to know EVERYTHING.) So I am doing this blog to share any information that I find. I will also be posting pictures of how I set everything up. We will take this Scentsy journey together!

HOW SERIOUS IS MY SCENTSY BUSINESS GOING TO BE?

I am currently a full time loan counselor at a local credit union, and a part-time accounting student. I am going to be doing Scentsy as a part-time hobby. I am definitely not going to be trying to make Scentsy a full time job. We will see what happens!


WHAT AM I CURRENTLY DOING WITH SCENTSY?

When you sign up to be a Scentsy consultant you pay $99 dollars for your starter kit (mine was $118 after taxes and shipping.) I am currently waiting on that to arrive. It is scheduled to arrive Wednesday which will be Scentsy day 6. I will post pictures and list contents of package when I get it. I am planning my first party which will take place at my Sister's house. She is hosting it. I will also post pictures of that. I am waiting to be able to get on the the forum where HOPEFULLY I can get more info about how people put their stuff together. I am going to be making coffee pens (which should be my next blog)
